Dear English-speaking friends,
as we have received many e-mails wondering whether it is possible to present your projects in English, we would like to encourage you to do so by pronouncing a warm and welcoming: Yes, you can!
Since the audience is the jury, it doesn’t necessarily matter in which language you present or what the topic is. Rather, the goal is to make the presentation as exciting as possible and the topic understandable for novices.
For an impression of how a Science Slam presentation could look like please watch the following video clip (well, a little “real” content wouldn’t harm …):
If you missed parts of the presentation due to bad recording quality: Check out Doug Zongkers article (http://isotropic.org/papers/chicken.pdf) and original Powerpoit-Slides (http://www.cs.washington.edu/orgs/student-affairs/gsc/offices/old/433/PoCSi43302/papers/dougz.ppt) at the University of Washington's website, where Doug earned his PhD (probably not for this paper, though...)
